Race Report 2019

The 2019 Totem to Totem Haida Marathon, Half Marathon and 10 Km Run is in the books. Although it seemed every weather app was predicting rain on race day, in fact, it turned out to be pretty near perfect weather for a run. The day was overcast and cool. It was good enough weather for the marathoners as last year’s winner Thomas Nichini returned and defended his title, taking nearly 20 minutes off his 2018 winning time. He had competition pushing him as David Birch of Toronto was just over a minute behind him. We congratulate all the winners and all the participants. Each event this year had more competitors than ever before. A record number 196 competitors made it to the start line and finished. We will look to break 200 crossing the finish line in 2020.

Everyone who finished their race received the stunning new medal designed by Robert Davidson. The T2T organizers are deeply appreciative of Mr. Davidson’s ongoing support and contribution and we know that many runners who had the opportunity took the time to thank him.

We want to thank all the volunteers who helped and came out to support the runners, some at the very last minute. Without you T2T could not happen. The organizers and the runners appreciate your time and your contribution to making race day a success. Please follow the “Photos” link to photos from T2T 2019.
